SRILANKA, THE FINAL JINX...

One thing is almost certain come the world cup. our lions would blaze a trail through the quarters and the semis..as they have done time and again with relish and gusto..yet only to falter ,stumble and fall in another one of those too-painful-to-remember -finals..

i cant think of another outfit like us who have almost had it many times over. we the sri lankans gotta be the most shell shocked lot in the galaxy..

it ain't a thing to blame our lion-hearts who fight like the namesake when the going gets tough, its the sheer coincidence of some magical knock from someone who smashes in out of nowhere ,who takes the game away from us..from the jaws of victory... the inimitable Gilchrist moment .
its this phenomenon which makes the team look ordinary in the final. when most of the time the things seem to work our way..all of a sudden the cyclone .lashes in to blow it all away.
we got to get out of the final jinx.. the one that robbed us many a piece of metal and silver enough to fill one more cupboard at
SRI LANKA CRICKET. but the real issue is how .
fate seems to have a thing with us ,no matter what the plan has in store for us.
yet the lions always climb the mountain, claw their way over perilous cliffs and reach the summit...well almost..
YET ..its gotta happen. and better be soon enough..
fortune favors the brave.. and we've had enough of second best....
sri lanka...BATTLE STATIONS...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bhajji…….

• Harbahajan Singh is famous for his temper both off and on the field. His resounding slap on Sreesanth’s face was also the costliest slap in sporting history pegging back Harbhajan’s finances by approximately Rs 3.5 crore. (He was suspended for 11 matches and lost out on the match fees). It also postponed his plans of buying “his baby” (the Hummer) by one year. Subsequently, Harbhajan did buy his Hummer and, again was at the center of another controversy, when he drove through Chandigarh without a registration number.

Bhajji also had incurred the wrath of the Sikh clergy for letting his hair down in a Royal Stag advert and elsewhere, Sachin Tendulkar personally had to bail him out of the Symonds ‘monkey gate’ hearing. Even today, the Aussie players firmly believe that it was Sachin’s standing that helped Bhajji get away with just a fine.

David Bekham….

Earlier this year, it was revealed that David Beckham had subscribed his children to different martial arts courses in order for them to have what it takes to protect their sister Harper Seven in some years’ time. Cruz does taekwondo, Brooklyn does boxing and Romeo does karate, so they’ll all be ready.

........Michael Jordan................

You wouldn't think the greatest professional basketball player of all time would rely on superstition, but even Michael Jordan himself was known for a specific quirk. While leading the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships during his legendary career, the five-time MVP wore his University of North Carolina shorts under his uniform in every game. Jordan led UNC to the NCAA Championships in 1982 and believed the mesh marvels brought him luck. In order to cover his lucky pair, Jordan began wearing longer shorts, which inspired a trend in the NBA.
