My TOP 5 BOOK REVIEWS
BEST SELLERS AND
MUST-READS!!!
What are books but an investment? But before buying a book,
it is essential that you know what lies inbetween those flashily designed hard
covers. So to make it easier for you, I’ve gathered my own collection of books
that are absolute MUST-READS and with a small description about the book too!
So read on and find what you like best!
1. The Shopaholic
Series by Sophie Kinsella
OK. Don’t panic. Don’t panic.
Sophie Kinsella is famous for beginning her chapters with
these lines; a panicked Becky Bloomwood frantically trying to reassure herself
that her latest bank overdraft is not that
bad. But unfortunately, it always is. But still, Becky manages to spring out of
it every other time, be it in her own bizarrely hilarious ways!
What are clothes without money? A shopaholic’s adventure
like no other, this 6-book series takes every modern age reader through an
uproar of shopping dilemmas, where her carrier bags are way higher in number
than her cash.
But money doesn’t grow on trees, so Becky is forced to
cut back on her expenses or make more money, both of which are insanely
confusing to understand for a shopaholic.
Smart, silly, clever and so funny to the point that it
would give you a stitch in the side, the Shopaholic Series takes 1st
place in my book list.
2.
Angels and Demons by Dan Brown
Fire.
Earth. Water. Air… Four elements. Four ingenious ways to kill a man…
When science and religion start bearing their teeth at
each other, strange things can happen. With a ticking time bomb on the loose,
Robert Langdon finds himself on a mysterious quest which involves saving the
Catholic Church from disintegrating and saving hundreds from dying.
A breathless journey that never lets you put the book
down; the suspense, the fright, and the spine-chilling captivation of the
writing, Dan Brown had indeed mastered a Best seller. Full of crazy but true
facts and jaw-dropping horrors, it is a book that can be matched by none,
making it No.2 on my must-reads!
3.
The Host by Stephanie Meyer
Two
species, two minds, two guys…and one being.
Aliens invade the Earth and they need a body to live in,
so they replace the minds of humans with their own kind and thrive in these new
found…hosts.
But Wanda’s beautiful host, Melanie, hasn’t gone
anywhere, thus causing a body to be shared by two minds. Amidst struggles to
survive in the newly transformed world, things start to get very complicated, especially
when it comes to love…
Written by the author of the Twilight saga, I’d say this
one captivated me much more!
4.
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
“Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favour!” rings the
high-pitched voice of the pink-haired Effie Trinket.
Yes, the time of slaughter, brutality and cold blooded
murder has arrived. The cruel, corrupt Capitol holds the annual tradition of
selecting two contestants from each of the 12 Districts. And the crowds watch
in sick silence as children as young as twelve get chosen to take part in the
slaughter-games where the contestants have to kill each other in an enclosed
arena until finally…only one stands.
But when Katniss Everdeen of District 12 volunteers to
replace her little sister in the Games, things begin to change…drastically.
Fast paced and full of action, the book is so good it was
made into a movie with the 2nd movie, Catching Fire, in Theatres
now.
5.
The Undomestic Goddess By Sophie Kinsella
A
successful lawyer in a highly credited firm; Samantha is rich, witty and has an
IQ of 600, what could go wrong with life, right? Everything.
To Samantha, money is everything. Who cares about mops
and brooms and cooking pans? Heck, she’s never even seen inside a washing
machine before!
But things change and Samantha is forced to work as a
house-maid!
Laugh out loud as the high-flying lawyer dusts the
ornaments with tissue paper, and struggles to slice bread. Ironing boards are a
wonder, and what the heck is an asparagus strainer???
But maybe cleaning toilets is a happier option than being
a lawyer? Find out as her journey makes your eyes tear in laughter, it is a
definite must-read!
Hope you found the reviews useful! Happy reading!
